Eggs and match head...
...But it remains to be seen whether harlequin or 'our' ladybird eggs.
I do suspect the former :-/
The eggs should hatch within 1-2 weeks and the larvae will then get busy eating as many aphids as they can get hold of and, during the 3-4 weeks of this stage of life, the larva will consume up to 500 aphids.
I have aquainted myself with the two diffferent types of larvae, so...
I'll keep you informed (assuming anyone is interested!).
The match head, however, is of the 'kitchen and hearth' variety.
I.e. when you want it in one place, it's invariably in the other.
Why don't I buy another box?
I really don't know.
It's one of those funny little money-saving nonsenses.
I stand beside matches for sale and think ...'No. I'll manage.
We have some in the kitchen. (Or by the hearth)'.
It's simply Match Thrift.
I wonder where I picked that up?
It's probably those Girl Guides again.
('Two matches allowed only, and if the camp fire doesn't light you'll have to rub sticks together'. Ooo - she was strict, that Captain.
And the Jam...
Jam on BOTH sides of the bread at camp...
..What fun is THAT when there's one bowl of water and thirty sticky girls?
Am I digressing?).
Anyway.
Eggs :-)
