My mum

I don't have a photo of my mum in my journal, so today was the perfect opportunity to fix that.

Here she is looking rather smart after coming back from the hairdresser, having had her hair done for the wedding. In May last year my mum got very ill as she has advanced cardio myopathy (heart failure) and we did not think she would be around to come to the wedding, so it is a miracle that here she is looking well. She has made a remarkable recovery although she gets very tired and is also in renal failure now due to the heart not working efficiently. When she was so ill last year, the cardiologist said we had to keep her positive and forward looking, and so good health at the wedding was a goal to work towards.

Despite being sick in the night Adam is feeling much better today. He is on a short course of very strong antibiotics so I think they have kicked in and are working already.

Tomorrow we move to the wedding venue, which is a game farm about 1 hour drive north of Durban. I fear they may not have wifi there which is a nusiance as I really want to blip the wedding photos - may have to backblip.
