Number Crunching!
Today was day off number one. Yeah right!
It started out ok, I went in early to help Ali merch Baby, it looked pretty good by the time we had finished, the new brights range for Nemo looks great against the pastel colours for Lady and Tramp.
After merching Ali said I could go at around 10am. As the weather was rainy and horrid I dossed around for a bit and left around 11:30 and killed some time looking in a few shops. Basically I was waiting for the cheese cake shop to open at 12!
I went to buy Ali and I a slice (vanilla for me and chocolate cookie for Ali) and we enjoyed it together in the office whilst happily reading our latest Magic touch report - 100% no less!
I arranged to meet up with Ali Kelly after 1pm for a coffee and catch up and she came to call for me at the Store.
We ended up going to a place literally a couple of doors up from Cheese Cake called Clement & Pekoe. It smelled wonderful and warm inside and despite the aroma of ground beans and numerous teas I chose the usual chai latte.
We sat and drank and chatted for a few hours and she told me about her date the previous night and I told her about wedding plans and the big life plan and it was nice to catch up.
She asked me to do a reference for her masters application as someone who had worked with her in a professional environment, it was nice that she thought of me.
Afterwards we planned to meet up again, perhaps the following week, and I was walking through St. Stephen's Park when Ali called from the Store. We have a visit tomorrow! A big visit! A Mike Stagg and Stormtrooper visit!
I turned around and called Luke to say I was heading back to work to help out.
When I got in we cleaned the office, printed off our figures and then freaked out like a scene from a cartoon where we almost fell off the stairs as we spotted some VIPs walk in and shake Eric's hand! We scooted back up those stairs like you have never seen, rushed to get Ali back into costume and I frantically cleaned up our trail of mess from the office.
In the end it was all ok, they were here to prep space for the Stormtroopers that would be invading our store tomorrow and they needed space to take a quick break. We packaged up some goody bags for them before they left, boosting our sales by €308 after discount., not bad.
We didn't have to stay much longer after that,w e completed the € per Tron and added in some key figures and sales points to memorise before leaving.
I took all my figures home with me for homework and as soon as I got in about 8:30 wrote up notes and revision in my little navy notebook to prepare myself for Mike Stagg, the retail managing director for Walt Disney Uk and Ireland!
So sleepy, I headed to bed just as Luke came home after being at the cinema. Think I was a little miss meany to him as I was tired and grumpy.
Today I am grateful for our teamwork and camaraderie that always comes together in a crisis, go 967!
