Doha Days

Another week and another iconic venue - this time the foyer of the National Convention Centre. We had come here to see the Canadian troupe Cirque Eloize perform their breathtaking show simply titled iD. Street art meets circus meets ballet and the resulting cocktail is infectious.

The building is a performance in its own right. It is another set piece structure that will form a unique and enormous Education City when it is all finished. Each public building here seems to out wow the previous one.

It really is a fascinating place to live and work even if there are sometimes surprising frustrations like being told that the show started at 8 pm when I bought the tickets but what I should have been told was 1800 ! We missed the first half as a result! Next time I will check the time on the ticket too! English is widely spoken but not always as widely accurate as I had thought!
