Koh Rong

Had a really good sleep here and even tho there was no fan it was still cool enough to sleep. I has a "shower" and it was lot colder this time and nizzy took great pleasure in soaking me. She flung a bucket over my head and made a run for the door only realising she had locked it!!! Big mistake as she received the inevitable fate.

We then made our way to the dive centre to carry out our deep dive. The dive itself was ok but at the bottom we did some games and looked at the difference in pressure. To show the pressure we cracked eggs and watched as the yolk stayed in one piece as we batted it about the bottom of the ocean. We came back up and that was us qualified to deep dive now.

It was back to the shack to get our bags packed and for us to catch the boat to Koh Rong. It's only a 30 minute journey and when we arrived the place looked so much busier than this island. We found a cheap guesthouse ($12) just off the pier that looked clean. Off we went a walk to find a place called "Long beach" which people have said is the nicest beach they have ever seen!! We didn't walk as we found a polish man who also wanted to go here so we booked a boat. The boat trip included fishing, snorkelling and sunset on long beach.

The fishing was ok and out of the 3 of us I was the only one who caught a fish. When i say fish I mean 3 inches of sheer power, which I returned to the ocean. We arrived at the beach it was clear why so people seemed to love this place. It was absolutely beautiful and the water was crystal clear with the softest sand. The three of us went a walk along the beach which is 7 kilometres with nothing on it but a few people (including naturists) This part of the island is so nice as there are no hotels or bars allowed.

After watching sunset we got dropped back at the pier where we sat down to a stone baked pizza and a couple of beers. We haven't had pizza since "Big Lou's" in Texas. It was a delicious pizza but not as big or tasty as Lou's. After a little chat with a couple of backpackers it was back for a much needed sleep.
