Spring arrives in the forest
Had a slow get up and breakfast of croissants and rhubarb jam.
Headed off to walk in the forest. One of the first things we saw was a buzzard swooping through the trees to grab something from the forest floor. There were lots of voles around and I wonder if the buzzard's breakfast was one of them.
Some of the trails were still quite muddy but the sun came out and we saw brimstones, peacocks and commas, voles, celandines and catkins. It seemed that someone had just turned on Spring.
Great soak in the hot tub in the evening with the clear night sky. We managed to read our Kindles and drink gin and tonics under the stars in warm, steaming bubbly water. Such decadence.
