Dressing "All By My Own"
This boy has interesting language.
He didn't say "yes" for a long time. He'd just repeat what he wanted. "Do you want a peanut butter sandwich?" I'd say. He'd reply, "A peanut butter sandwich."
Now, I notice that he never says "I don't know." Instead, he'll use one of these terms:
something
somewhere
someone
Sometimes he'll say, "I can't tell you that right now" or "I'll tell you later."
And, when he's pleased with his growing independence, he says that he does things "all by my own!"
He's dressing himself in the mornings now. This morning, his pants had a rip in the knee, providing an interesting challenge as his toes slipped through the whole.
And, I'll take this moment to record his increasing opposition. He likes to be contrary. I recently asked him to put on his hood. He said (with lots of expression), "Mom, it's not a hood. It's a neck shield!" Neck shield. Hmmm.
