Last Minute Anniversary Selfie
On a Saturday, 17 years ago, the sun was shining. It was a good day to get married.
Today, it rained, and right before we grabbed an umbrella to walk down town to eat a celebratory dinner, I grabbed the camera for this impromptu shot.
We used to take a picture of ourselves on every anniversary: tripod, timer, and everything. The last one was when I was pregnant with the girl. After that, the focus changed, I suppose.
Grandma watched the children while we went to dinner at a place with a view of the creek. Our anniversary used to be on the weekend that we spring our clocks ahead an hour. Now that daylight savings time comes earlier, we benefit from the increased daylight at the end of the day on our anniversary. Several hours were spent eating dinner and drinking wine with a great view of the creek. Then we walked to the wine bar and had more food, more wine, and more dessert before walking home in the rain.
