My 40th year

School holidays!

Heidi and I made scotch pancakes this morning, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstalls recipe is the best by far. I have an old book that I have been writing recipes in for the last 10 years. Only absolute star recipes get written in here. Mark says it is a scratch and sniff book on account of all the food splatters on it. I took the photo of it this morning so I could make them again this week while we are at my Auntys house. It wasn't supposed to be my blip. The recipe is also missing a teaspoon of baking powder, I don't know why I don't just write it in.

We all woke up late and I started putting washes on and sorting clothes to take away with us. My sister arrived to start work in the office at the top of the house, I love her working here and am trying uber hard not to interrupt her. Mr Dylan loves it so much and is her constant companion up in the room of doom ( it's very messy). Today she had an important conference call just as I got in the shower and someone rang the doorbell and Dylan went barking mad! Luckily her colleagues in cyberspace thought it very funny.

My lovely old school friend Katy came round today with her daughter, it honestly does not at all seem as if it's ten years since I'd last seen her (except for Friday). We are hopeless at the same things and interested in the same things and she is exceptionally kind. I miss her. We all had lunch together, Indy and Heidi were lovely with her little girl. I finally packed the car up and we left after 7pm so arrived just after 11 pm all in one piece.
