A Weed....
At some point in the past a bird brought a cherry stone to our garden. At the back of a border it found a happy spot. For the first couple of years we cut it back but, after the third year, we decided to let it grow and see what would happen. We were rewarded with a beautiful cherry tree which is covered with white blossom at this time of the year and has bitter sweet, yellow cherries in the late summer. The tree is now about 20 feet high and is a great asset to the garden. We have the cherries on the lower branches and leave the ones at the top for the birds. The birds don't stick to their side of the bargain....
