The end of the line: Swanage Station
The platform may seem deserted, but behind me passengers are boarding a diesel train to Norden, a little to the north of Corfe Castle.
The Wareham-Swanage railway line was closed by British Rail in 1972, and the tracks were removed. Three years later, the Swanage Railway Society was formed. In time, its steam and diesel trains will once more be travelling regularly between Swanage and Wareham.
