St Augustine's, Harleston, Suffolk

This afternoon I had planned to visit St Augustine's Church in Harleston, a small hamlet just outside of Stowmarket. On arriving there the first thing I saw was this stunning wrought iron gate made by the local blacksmith. I will go back to photograph the little 11th century thatched church but in the meantime I couldn't resist sharing this beautiful gate with you.
The setting of the church is idyllic - through the gate there are ponds either side of the gravel drive that meanders up a slight incline to the pretty little church which I will photograph at a later date.
