What Lies Ahead . . . .

This is the view that greeted us as we flew towards our destination of Catania, Sicily.

As the trip to Morocco in 2011 had been so enjoyable (and I had also acquired the most wonderful chap along the way) we had booked another adventure, this time climbing volcanoes!

Etna was to be the final target on the trip and this view really made me realise how much the volcano dominates the landscape (and life) on the island. Watching it smouldering away beneath us gave a real sense of what was to come . . . .
