Distant farm
I thought I would make my last shot of the Fens a typical one to remind me of what I find attractive and unattractive about this place. Big skies, open views and magnificent sunsets are counterbalanced by cold east winds and bleak, grey skies. Distant church spires appear like the masts of tall ships, prominent landmarks to break the flatness but much in between is monotonous and featureless. The low lying mists can be very atmospheric but the damp gets into your bones. There is no doubting it is a unique landscape. This then is my reminder for when I am away.
