Conference in a 3D virtual world

I participated and presented at an annual international online conference that is held in Second Life, a 3D virtual world where people interact as avatars. Attending a conference this way enables dissemination and networking without having to travel...except that the timings of the conference are in Pacific Daylight Time - my participation was from 11 pm to early this morning.
