...is bearing down on the Far North Queensland coast as I write and a terrifying few hours lie ahead for those in Cooktown where it is estimated to cross the coast.
Downgraded to a category four the 'shock wave' effects will be felt by many communities including Cairns where younger son P and grandson S live.
They are battening down for huge rains and storm surges and thankfully live in a house built in an era of strict cyclone building codes.
