Birthday selfie II

Katie was very excited for this evening - we were going for a meal out with Granny and Grandad as my belated birthday celebration. I had finished a new little playsuit for her to wear, which she loved when she saw. She insisted that I wear a pretty dress as it was my birthday. We all got a taxi to the restaurant. She coloured in nicely while we waited for drinks & starters. Whenever we went to the toilets, she looked in the mirror reflections and said "LOOK its me and birthday mummy" with a huge grin. She'd seen a cake Granny and Grandad had brought with them and during the meal was asking where it's candles were. She was quite adamant that it should have them. And that I should not carry my own cake into the room, someone must do that for me. She ate her full meal, apart from the strawberry ice cream, and was so good, even though it was an hour after bedtime by the time we left.
When we got home, she was excited for the cake and wanted to take photos of me blowing out my candles. She was flagging then, until she realised that there were presents to give me. She perked up. I had a very beautiful vase from her and some flowers to go in it. She fell asleep in my arms about 5 minutes later.
