Bath

This morning we said goodbye to our holiday cottage in Hampshire and set off on the long journey back up north. At least we were only going half way home today as we had arranged to spend the night with a friend in Chester. That meant we had more time to stop off in a couple of places en route. First was Stonehenge, which was fantastic. Hadn't been there since I was a teenager. The new visitor centre is stunning. It's going to be a much better experience once all the work is completed. We ate lunch at the café at the centre and then drove west to Bath. This is Hubby's old stomping ground. Again, I hadn't been there for decades and had forgotten just how beautiful it is. We didn't have terribly long there, but made time for Grace, Ophelia and myself to see the Roman Baths. The girls followed the kids' trail around and were really excited by it. Really enjoyed the visit, however short. Traffic was a nightmare on the M5/M6 and we didn't get to Chester until late.
