Courtney came over to visit this afternoon. At fourteen, she is blossoming into a beautiful young woman, one that I am super proud of. Not only is she beautiful; she is smart, funny, adventurous, caring, spirited and loving. Despite the constant struggles that teenagers face, she continues to impress me with the choices she makes.

I look at this image, and remember her little... those big brown (almost black) eyes staring up at me, her squeaky voice chatting about this and that. The obvious question, "where has the time gone?"

I realize that one day soon, boys will occupy a larger chunk of her time (and mind) and perhaps there won't be room for her old Aunt. For now though, I embrace our time spent together and remind her often just how much I love her!
