Finding space

Back at Heathrow again this morning (for a much shorter trip this time).

Terminal 5 is a very impressive piece of architecture, but normally it’s hard to appreciate it because it’s so full of huge numbers of people moving about. (Particularly true on a Monday morning….and particularly noticeable when it seems like most of the people are moving very slowly, and are in the security line in front of you!)

I found a vantage point where, as well as being able to take in the grandeur of the structural steel, you really get an impression of some of the internal space created when they built the terminal. And in this case... there were only handful of people in it! It looks like they’ve done a great job of finding a place where they can relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the massed travellers, before setting off on their flights.
