Tobermory selfie!

(backblip)

We cycled down to the ferry port in Kilchoan, getting caught in a squally shower just before we reached the shelter at the port! The ferry took us across a rolling sea to Tobermory, Mull. We took some photos, had some lunch, wandered around some shops and went for a walk around the coastal path towards another lighthouse! This time one which we could see opposite our campsite across the water.

The wind started to pick up as we boarded the ferry back, the crossing is only 40 minutes but this time was really wild. We stayed out on deck, sheltering from the spray under the tiny bit of cover at the front of the boat. (The ferry is tiny, just fitted 2 cars on board which both had to reverse on.) Standing at the front meant that we were quite often pitched right up and out of the sea, crashing back down and trying to keep hold of the side! We had a captive audience of the other passengers, who had all long since retreated into their cars and must have thought we were loons with our bikes. At about £8.50 return, we felt we had got our monies worth of adventure.
