Boston One Year Stronger
Today we stand together for the first anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombings. Last year our family was spared, others were not as lucky and the wounds for all, terribly visible and invisible, persist.
Reclaiming
Rememberances
This year's marathon brings special joy for me. T and I will have a very special blip meet with dogblog's Paula Banks & family and DDW & husband, her ever willing model:) We'll get together after cheering our relative, N who wasn't able to finish last year, and Paula. N was at mile 25.5, in the huge group of runners stopped after the bombing. She was unscathed, but it took a long time to reunite her with her husband, T's nephew.
Today will be a day of tributes and reflections with a moment of silence at 2:49 this afternoon. Vice president Biden is in town and the mood is somber.
In other events this morning I had an early visit to the clinic to have an embedded tick(yuck, gross, ick) removed. It was a common wood tick, not a scary deer tick and all is well, just a little nasty bruised wound and huge yuck factor having to endure a sleep knowing it was there.
For the Record,
This day came in warm and wet with increasing wind and dropping temperatures this evening.
All hands healthy (thankfully)
