Kumquat bush

We went to Olanzac market again today and did a lovely walk by the Canal du Midi at Homps - I took some photos as the canal looked pretty and a few boats were going out, but the highlight of the day was making kumquat marmalade!

I really only make preserves and chutneys if I have a free supply of produce and this kumquat bush is one that we are caring for while renting the house. The fruit are nice to have with fromage blanc for breakfast, but there are so many of them and I didn't want them to go to waste.

On the subject of food (once I start, it's my favourite subject!), we had very tasty mackerel for tea with a cold crisp Petit Chablis - lovely.
