Doha Days

Great to go to the Souk this evening .The Morrocan restaurant never fails to disappoint and the rolling performance of street theatre mingling with promenading locals passing our table added to the sense of amazement and wonder for our guests,
Later we walked through the labrynth of booths, passing the cruelly corralled birds, bunnies and puppies to the lavishly stabled Emir's arab horses and concluded our tour in the Falcon Souk. Here Qatari sons are brought by their proud fathers to buy their first falcons. (As my younger son reminded me - a bit like Harry Potter being taken to buy his first wand!) Needless to say I was not offering to buy either of my sons a falcon this evening : can you imagine what Qatar Airways would have t0 say to two of these falcons roosting in the overhead lockers en route to LHR!
