Shield Bug
Another really nice morning in Abergavenny. We went to see my mother-in-law, and ended up in town for coffee and a rather large Bakewell Tart :) . We saw this little guy, on her Japenese Red Acer, in the front garden. I only had the standard zoom, so he / she looks quite small. Much better large.
This afternoon we went to Mynydd Llangatwg for some training. Thankfully it had clouded over, so wasn't quite as warm. We had a map and there were controls out in the terrain, so we set ourselves a course and went out. I just walked to protect my achilles, but they seemed alright. I walked 6.3 Km in 80 minutes and went to quite a few sites and didn't use my compass. I find it helps if you do it using the contours rather than a bearing and distance. In a race I'd use a combination. It's open here and you can easily see the terrain, unlike when there are trees. Tomorrow is the sprint race at Swansea University and I'm looking forward to it.
