at home with an Ivysaurus

Baby vultures

Ladies who lunch was at my house this week. I think there'll be a good few photographs in the coming weeks and months of Ivy and Tilda up to mischief together- here they are haranging Edith whilst Elseanne innocently plays in the background.

A super rough night with Ivy last night- she was literally waking every hour looking for me. In the end Euan had her across his knee asleep from 5am to 6 and I took over from 6-8. In the morning she took an epic 3 and a half hour nap strapped to Euan's front in the wrap whilst we tidied up the house and Euan made pizza dough.

Lunch was lovely- Elseanne arrived first and she and Ivy practised their syncronised baby dance routines and Elseanne got her new jumper (thanks Granny Grant). They're adorable together they stroke each others heads and pile on top of each other. We also had a guest mum whose visiting the village came, but without her son because he was napping. Starter was a yummy soup that Ivy enjoyed immensly, main was pizzas that Euan cooked for us (king prawn, creme frece and courgette is a winning combination) and pudding was a yummy squidgy pavlova (and there was of course the traditional Guinness).

As we had a new lady, we had to explain how we all know each other. It rather highlighted my peculiar method of making friends. Here's how I met each of the ladies (who I then organised into ladies who lunch): Elena- I asked the midwife to give her my number after she was in my antenatal class. Tessa- I overheard her saying she was from Ullapool at the highland baby show so jumped in and introduced myself. Becky- I saw her name on the board when I was in the children's ward with Ivy and went round to see her. I think I may be like a primary school child: 'please will you be my friend....' oh well- it works for me :)

In the evening, we went to the chielidh place to see Euan's friend's Ewan and Merlin. Ivy and I came home to get dinner and put her to bed and Euan stayed out. Hopefully tonight will be left rough with Ivy- I think I'll spend tomorrow curled into a ball if I get another night of so little sleep.
