Sunshine!
My cough and cold woke me early so I used the time to get ready of the arrival of No 2 daughter and co.
Food for tonight was prepared - thinly sliced parsnips, onion, pancetta, cherry tomatoes, black pudding to be served with linguine and topped with crumbled feta cheese and basil. I made some chocolate pots for pudding. Tonight I'll make some little appetisers - cubes of rye bread, soused herring, beetroot with a sliver of the sushi ginger recently bought in the supermarket in chinatown. We might have a cocktail (No might, now I've said it, I know we ARE going to have a cocktail.)
I had time for a quick bit of Facebook banter with two of my cousins about the referendum - one is voting yes, the other, no, so as I have no vote I can wind them both up.
I also got time to get our trip itinerary rearranged so that we can have our adventure through Horizontal Falls - there was a jeep tide when we wanted to go. So flights have been changed to get us there in time. I'm so excited about all this, I had to take myself up the hill to calm down.
I have spent a lot of time moaning about our weather and taking grey blips - so today you have the Simonside Hills form the moor - and a blue sky.
Have a good holiday, if you are getting one!
