Heading Home
Last day of our time away. Having packed the car up we headed to Chillingham Castle. It was closed – closed on Saturdays to be exact. We needed another plan so decided to head to The Hirsel. We had a lovely lunch in the sunshine, a wander round the craft shops and then went for a walk on the estate. It was warm in the sun. It was so nice to be out without coats, scarves and gloves. There were lots trees laden with blossom and trees bursting into leaf.
We then headed to Norham Castle. An interesting ruin, situated high above the River Tweed. It must have been a huge castle in its heyday. We wandered round, amazed at the scale of the place, before heading home through the Lammermuirs.
I think we will be gardening tomorrow.
Home sweet home.
The blip was taken at The Hirsel.
