Dawlish Sea Wall
I don't know if the news spread outside the UK but
those living here can't have failed to have heard about the Dawlish Sea
Wall which collapsed under the railway line in the storms in February.
After some amazing engineering work the wall was rebuilt and the line
re-opened on 4th April after only two months work. This is the second
steam train to use the line since it re-opened; ex-LNER A4 60007 Sir
Nigel Gresley with the Dartmouth Express on Saturday 19th April. The
rebuilt section of the wall is roughly at the back of the train, and
they are still operating a 30mph speed restriction and only allowing
one train to cross at a time.
