Three for Easter.

The top strip is from May 2000, and I drew it for my friend Ben who I was saying goodbye to as I graduated and he stayed behind in Tucson to start a life. I can't stress enough how much I wouldn't have kept my sanity if not for Ben Couch, and although Zen is nothing like him the character is my tribute to my friendship with him.

And another new one! Will I keep this up? Who knows! I did include the second version of it in black and white so you can see one small thing - Tad's hair is different in the colored version, which is a cut and paste job from the new strip from yesterday. I actually drew this Abercrombie joke before the new gaydar one, and forgot that I had changed Tad's hair. Nothing to get excited about, but I do like to talk about the process of drawing as much as the nostalgia - changing something like that before Photoshop would have required me to get my light board, trace Tad's face, and redraw the hair, redraw the lines, redo the color....in Photoshop, I did that in five minutes. I would have killed for this in grad school.

* Sorry to blow my own horn, but I think I nailed that Abercrombie poster. It's the kind of thing that in ten years might be out of context, but that vapid boy looking at boy thing they do is really funny.
