My day

This was the highlight of my day, refereeing an under 18 Division One Nottinghamshire Youth League football game between Dunkirk FC and Netherfield.
The adult men's side of Dunkirk, also called The Boatmen,,play in the Midland Alliance League, and were formed in 1946. If there is a connection with the Dunkirk WW2 evacuation I am not sure.
Today's Netherfield team are already into the Under 18 County Cup Final, which will be played on The City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest. They won today 5-2, quite comfortably, and look good prospects for the final. It was a pleasure to referee them - first time for me.
