The Monks' Way
This old footpath alongside the ancient wall is called The Monks' Way and the stone pavers date from the 14th Century.
The path is reputed to have connected monasteries in the area with one another and with the River Trent
The path runs through the village of Strelley, Nottinghamshire and the church is All Saints.
We walked from Kimberley along country footpaths and across the M1 to the Broad Oak pub in Strelley for a liquid lunch and then back in the warm sunshine - very pleasant.
