Mount Grace Priory

I have passed this place many times driving down the A19 and never stopped off before. It is in a surprisingly spectacular and peaceful woodland setting bordering the North Yorkshire Moors. This photo is of the church which was built in 1398 and stands amongst the extensive ruins of the monastic buildings. Mount Grace Priory is the best preserved of the ten Carthusian charterhouses in England.
