Easter Sunday

Part of Ruskins View this is one of my favourite views. The limestone hills of Gragareth and Ingleborough are in the background to the right, Brownthwaite Pike straight ahead, the River Lune in the foreground and you are looking in the direction of Casterton and High Casterton villages. Turner painted 'Ruskins View' in 1822 and it is a beautiful painting, the middle point of his picture is Kirfitt Hall Farm which is out of view to the left of my photo.

Inspired by so many early morning blippers I was out walking the dogs at 7.15, early for a night owl like me but still a good hour after the sunrise and also a sunrise Easter Sunday service at the Motte in the corner of the churchyard. The light was lovely at this time in the morning. The dogs were so pleased to have an hours walk first thing in the morning and I finished up buying the Sunday papers, fresh croissants and hot cross buns to take home. We then had the laziest morning ever, I read my book for hours and the girls and Mark played and watched a couple of films like Lassie and Despicable Me. We had a really windy walk then and climbed like mountain goats on the large slabs of rock on the other side of the bridge. Flynn finds it really hard with only 3 legs but Dylan is really nimble and managed to find something dead and revolting to eat again. We had a lovely dinner in Casterton, the girls looked so smart in their Easter dresses from Granny Helen.
