Happy Snowday!!!

As promised the snowstorm forecast started hitting Washington last night, so my birthday present this morning was a foot of snow!

Mrs DP fetched coffee and muffins from downstairs for breakfast in bed, after which we ventured out onto the (just about running) Metro to Pentagon Mall for our promised shopping. The one upside of the weather was that the busiest shopping day of the year was instead the quietest, and we more or less had the shops to ourselves.

Having blitzed them we raced back to central Washington, dumped bags at the hotel and had a scrummy lunch in a nearby bistro, which by the time we had finished had decided to shut up shop, meaning we got a bag of leftover pastries to take away with us.

Mrs DP headed back for a sleep whilst I had a quick walk to snap some pictures, the Nikon getting covered in the process.

After all that we're going to be sensible for the rest of the day and stay in the hotel - it's so thick and dense out there it's just not worth venturing out again. We'll hit the sights again tomorrow.

Sort of fun though!
