Emergency Blockade

These two emergency vehicles had just arrived a few minutes earlier below our apartment on Rue des Peupliers in Paris 13e, and were clearly not moving soon.

The pedestrians on the sidewalk had all gotten off the bus--they had options up the street, but nothing ideal. The attendants did finally come out of our building, but without a patient; the big van finally unblocked the bus nearly 25 minutes after I took this shot. (Good thing Easter Monday is at least a semi-holiday in Paris.)
