Shaldon
Colin and Tom went off to the football at Plymouth today, they lost, so Ann and I took Dylan down to the beach at Ness Cove. The only access to the beach is through an original smuggler's tunnel comprising a sloping pathway and flights of steps under the towering cliffs of The Ness.
Its a great place to take the dog as there is no exclusions and the beach is normally only sparsely populated. We spent some time there walking by the sea and sunning ourselves, yes the sun came out and developed into a very pleasant day. I tried to encourage Dylan to paddle in the sea by throwing stones, not at him, but he has always tried to avoid getting his feet wet. Whilst watching at the sea edge a wave caught him and we finally had him in the water, for a minute before he scampered out.
It was then into Shaldon for a cup of tea at The Clipper before picking the boys up at Newton Abbot.
