East Hampton Long Island USA

This creek on the West more sheltered side of Long Island is known
as Three Mile Water. This is known as the Bay side the bay being
Connecticut Bay. The East much more exposed side faces the
Atlantic. There is an abundance of such creeks on the Bay side with
their mixture of sea and fresh water and this, together with the
shelter, attracts a great variety of wild life including ospreys nesting
in the foreground.
