Fit for the gods, and dishy

Flowers around town today. Maybe one of these is edible?

Day 21: ‘a dish fit for the gods’ (Julius Caesar)

Still plugging away at the novel.
Getting way behind on comments. Thanks so much for yours!
I didn't mean for this to be a back-blip, but midnight happened while I wasn't looking!
Hence, the poem.

PRAYER REQUEST

I would not be rattled—
Much more work than play—
If I hadn’t battled
With a twenty-four hour day.

Life would be a pleasure
If I had my way
And got extra measure
In a twenty-five hour day.

While we’re on the subject,
Why should I be meek?
God, how could you object
To an eight- or nine-day week?

I hate to be greedy
But it would sure appear
I seem to be needy
Of a nice thirteen-month year.

Then I’d be so cheerful
Laugh the livelong day
Never deadline-fearful
With a twenty-six hour day.

Amen.
