Old Market Hall
Tuesday
This morning we went into the nearby attractive market town of Newent. Janet had to take her Belgian shepherd, Wispa, to the vet, to be weighed and get her nails clipped, since she doesn't like to do it herself. After we were finished at the vets, we went for a browse and a coffee in a Christian book shop cum coffee shop, and then went for a walk around the small lake. On the way back, Janet wanted to stop in at the little supermarket for a couple of things, so while she was in there, I walked down the road a bit to get a picture of the old half-timbered market hall, which dates back to 1668. The town was looking quite festive, decked out in red white and blue bunting, in anticipation of a visit from Prince Edward and his wife Sophie tomorrow. In the afternoon Janet did some work in the garden, while I busied myself with some jobs around the house.
