If you go down to the woods today...

Yesterday I went with a couple of my pas to explore Woodhall Dean, an ancient sessile oak forest managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust, one of the few remaining sited of this type of oak plantation left in Scotland. The path winds its way up and down along a steep sided river bank and there are atmospheric views round every corner. In hazy light the dark trees trunks stood out splendidly against the carpet of new green undergrowth.
