The first poppy . . .
At the top of the garden this afternoon I spotted this poppy, just starting to open. As you can tell, it was another day of thick haar! The dampness hung in the air all day.
Into the vets' again this morning to have Ollie's abscess lanced and drained. The brave boy let them do it under a local anaesthetic with me there, making a fuss of him and keeping him calm. A sebaceous cyst that he's had for ages was punctured when he was attacked and now it is infected. Two lots of antibiotics haven't made any difference, so it had to be drained. He's got a few of these cysts, lumps and bumps, but the vets have always said that if they aren't painful or bothering him we should leave them well alone. Just the sort of things that happen as a dog gets older.
B came round later with a Get Well card for him and a box of dog treats! He is loving all the attention and luckily doesn't seem too bothered by the wound itself.
