at home with an Ivysaurus

I told Ivy I was going to take a photo of her new nappy we bought with money her Great Puffin Gran gave her for Easter. This photo is before she turned round, stood up and starting wiggling her bottom.

I love our cloth nappies. Ivy wears TotsBots easy fits and they're pretty much like a disposable but made of cloth, they velcro on and are in one piece. They also come in gorgeous prints- which Ivy and I appreciate (she paws at the nappies with the prints in a way she doesn't with the plain colours). My favourite has Bees on it, which was also bought with money from Great Puffin Gran. There's new limited edition ones out just now by Frugi that i'd love to have with pretty birds and whales on them- I'd wear them if they made matching adult clothes. At Christmas time we asked that anyone who was planning on buying Ivy clothes bought her nappies instead (she wears a nappy every second day for 2+ years, she'll wear a nice dress 2 or 3 times), not many people did- but i'll ask again for her birthday just on the off chance. Maybe then she (I...) can have the nice Frugi ones.

Today was a posh food day. We had scallops and microsalad (grown by me in the box room) for lunch. For Friday coffee and cakes I made chocolate souffle and dinner was a venison and cranberry pie from Lochinver brought down for us by Don and Elena. Ivy had butter fried bannanas and creme freche for pudding and fed herself chunks of broccoli (calebrese) before dinner.

Ivy and I went on a walk up to the allotment in the afternoon to water our polytunnel.
