Went for an HCB inspired composition here from my balcony. Tried to find interesting geometry and then waited for the someone suitable to fill the frame. I'm not very happy with it to be honest, I must have found the composition a lot more interesting when I took the shot, which is too bad. Can definitely do better!
Pretty sure we spent every morning just chilling at home this week… Eve and me went to a nearby brasserie for lunch. Le Copernic (Avenue Kléber). And yeah, I decided to get another tartare after a starter of terrine. Not one meal has disappointed this week. Have the last four years spent mostly in the UK lowered my standards? Who knows!
In the evening, we joined up with the dudes at Wine By One (Rue de Marignan) for wine tasting. Anand and Eve want to be a hot-shot wine connoisseurs, I was just there for the tastes. The concept of the store is sick though, definitely recommend it. A modern way to experience wine tasting. Whites ended up being the best and the dessert wine was heaven (good job I saved up a little bit for it).
Eve and me had dinner at Chez André (Rue Clément Marot), another brasserie where I had hands down best meal of the week, rare salmon with aubergines and courgettes.
On the buzz, we reconvened with the bros at Buddha Bar (Concorde). Four years later, I’ve finally managed to visit this place and it was worth the wait. Drinks prices aside, the place is next-level décor. Basically tonight we were hitting all the cool bars we wanted to tick off the list. Next we were gonna check out Moose Bar, but instead we hung around the Mabillon area and went to Comptoir des Cannettes (Rue des Cannettes), known for its awesome cellar. With no tables left, the waiter somehow got us one (may have involved kicking people off their table) and we spent the rest of the night drinking wine and listening to the smooth jazz as it turned into the most danceable music ever.
And then we ended up having the most massive debate about clothing, through which we walked to the islands, before realizing that actually we should probably turn the other way and go home. We made it back to my place around 3:30 after a long classic walk along the Seine and a taxi ride through empty Paris.
peace
