Jomo Samphel Déchen

One of our primary purposes for pilgrimage to Kathmandu is to visit Jomo Samphel Déchen, the wife of Kyabjé Kunzang Dorje Rinpoche. Sadly Kunzang Dorje Rinpoche died a few years ago, but I was fortunate to meet him on three pilgrimages.
In this picture, Jomo Samphel has just received the gift of a fan from one of our group, and Lhamo Yangchen is explaining how to open it. Lhamo Yangchen accompanied us as our translator. Jomo Samphel was delighted with the fan and we hear that she has been finding it most useful in the heat.
