My Best Efforts - Year 3

First Flowers on my Choisya..........

..........plus some holes made by some naughty little creature - and spot the spider!

This is the golden leafed variety - but was probably a mistake as the plain green-leafed ones seem to produce more flowers. The whole bush has a rather pungent "perfume" which a lot of folk dislike - it is in the same category as "mums", marigolds and nasturtiums - sort of spicey but I like it very much.

BOUI :-
1) It is also known as Mexican Orange Blossom - not to be confused with Philladelphus (mock Orange} (maybe that's not useless - never mind!)

2) Referred to as golden apples in mythology, Jupiter offered oranges to Juno on their wedding day. The orange blossom symbolizes the eternal bond of marriage.

(As neither Choisya nor Philladelphus produce oranges that IS useless info!!)

A lot better day today weatherwise - lots of sun - quite a lot of clouds but very pleasant. Thermometer reads 60 Deg.F but when I took this photo about an hour ago, it felt a LOT cooler!

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Today - one year ago. Anni & I were in the Wildlife Ranch nr St.Antonio (USA) - what a day that was!! Do have a look!
