The Pearl

Consider the pearl, so pure and so bright,
A glorious object of luster and light,
What makes it so lovely?
Smooth of touch to the hand?
The irritant did it the small piece of sand.

Consider your life, has the sand done it's best
To make you unhappy as all of the rest?
Let the sand do it's work
Persevere to the end
And you'll find that the pearl is you from within.

Fact of the day -
When the moon is closest the Earth it's at it's Perigee. Peri comes from Greek meaning "close." Gee is from Gaega for "earth." The opposite of Perigee is Apogee, meaning farther point from Earth.
