Life in Sunny Dubai

Venice of the East

Took a delightful elderly couple the pastor and his wife for a dhow cruise tonight and they were ACE! No problems with climbing up and down stairs, and they enjoyed all the buffet had to offer and just LOVED the views of Dubai from the Creek.

My blip is of just one of them... Old Dubai was built along the water inlet that flows from the Persian Gulf- the city's lifeline. When Iranian and Indian merchants came, they built their houses/businesses right on the Creek. This section is very well preserved and still functions as a souq and I love it!

The work week began with a fire alert in the building. 21 floors down really makes ones knees hurt! Ugh. And in the afternoon, I had lunch with Jessica before she leaves Dubai for the summer to escape the heat. Was reminded when waiting at the Assembly Point just how hot it has gotten so quickly. Good day at the office in between, sprinkled with moments of stress and challenges, AND a colleague gave me a big box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates with all the stickers on. Watch out team! The generous giver already has several stickers on her monitor (not placed by me I hasten to add).
