Today was awesome!

Despite an early start for a Sunday, we got up, had a lovely breakfast (the smell of bacon cooking was what woke me before the alarm!) and ventured to the meeting point for the big ride out.

Never have we seen so many bikes in one place; it was astounding! This photo was taken from the fat end of the meeting point, hopefully it shows the magnitude of the event. (It was a park & ride car park, to give you an idea of the size)

see if you can spot Mr A!

Getting on the car park was done with military precision and registration was also swiftly done.
However, getting off again was a massive free for all. I'm not sure why there was such a great rush; it wasn't a race and we were all heading to the same place, but some people insisted on pushing their way through.

We waited in line and finally got through the bottle neck to join the convoy on the motorway. That was fun! The police had cordoned off the slip roads and flagged us all through the red traffic lights; there were people lined up on the motorway bridges waving to us.....I felt like the Queen!

To look ahead and see nothing but bikes on the motorway was strange, but it felt good to be a part of it all. I'm not sure how many riders there were in total, or how much was raised, but I will post this I for when I find out :-)

Once we reached the RAF airfield, we had just enough time to inspect the bathroom facilities before our friends, Curran, hit the stage.

We've never seen the full line up before, nor a fully amplified set; it's usually Mark & Dean doing an acoustic set. So it was great to meet the other 3 guys (Kris, Enrico & Mat) and hear how they performed together. They sounded fantastic!
Not being biased, but they put the other acts to shame.

The weather held out until just after 2 pm, then the heavens opened, just as we were having lunch (braised buffalo with ginger & black treacle gravy & mash.....no greasy burger van for us!). We were drenched! But, the sun came out again and it warmed up enough to dry us off a bit before we set off home.

The ride home wasn't pleasant; it was sooooo windy. I hate riding when it's like that, but we needed to get home so I had to grip grin & bear it.
I also discovered that Mr A's jacket has pockets; so if hands get cold (which they do sometimes, even with winter gloves on), I can snuggle into him and put my hands in his pockets!

It's nice to get back home, though we both still feel like we are on the road! Night all :-)

I'm absolutely shattered so will catch up with comments tomorrow.
