Big Lily

One of a bunch received from dear Latvian friends for our 52nd Wedding Anniversary a couple of days ago.

I also used this bloom, just under 9 inches across, to get a really good close up of the innards — stamens and especially the pistil. Very interesting, but not as pleasing a picture as the whole flower. I'm realising that producing a good, clear macro shot may not actually result in a pleasing picture to look at. Still, worth trying…
